TrollAktiv arrange educational avalanche courses for groups and individuals that wish to understand the complex and inexact science of avalanches.  These course are ideal for anyone that travels in the winter mountains on skis or on a snow scooter.  These are practical, outdoor courses where the participant will learn to use the safety equipment important for avalanche safety and also learn how to spot the danger signs and understand which mechanisms occur when an avalanche is triggered.  We will also teach you how to organise and search for a buried victim.  Our courses are led by qualified and experienced outdoor professionals.  We can run the course anywhere there is snow covered terrain and will travel to wherever our guests are located to deliver this course.

Pris:  Day course (6 hours): kr. 1000,- per person / Half day course(3 hours) :  Kr 500,- per person.
*Maxs 10 pers per instructor.

Duration:  Half or full day courses. 

Bring with you: Day sack, packed lunch, hot drink, wind and water proof out layers, warm inner layers and duvet, hat and gloves, spare hat and mitts.  Skis, ski boots and ski sticks or snow shows are useful to have.  We will be digging in the snow so a spare pair of gloves is recommended.

Equipment we provide: Avalanche safety equipment (shovels, probes, transceivers). Instructors carry wind shelters and first aid equipment.

Adventure park Instructor

IAPA instructor

TrollAktiv deliver IAPA recognised Instructor and Rescuer courses for adventure parks.

The Instructor is the first step to getting started in the very exciting field of ropes courses. You are in constant contact with guests and participants on a daily basis, at this level one can introduce and instruct clients on use of safety equipment as well as a variety of other tasks in Adventure Parks such as supporting rescues.

Training for the level of Rescuer is based on training of an IAPA instructor. As a Rescuer, you have all the skills of instructors and may assist and rescue participants from a height. They therefore have a number of responsibilities and play a very vital role in the running of an Adventure Park.

The framework of the course are the Standards set out by IAPA and norm standard for rope courses EN 15567.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 16 years
  • Good physical and mental condition
  • Proof of first aid (9 teaching units)
  • The trainee can read and write in the language used in their Park
  • Medical Questionnaire of the IAPA

Contents:

  • Basic operations
  • Communication, instruction and how to deal with participants and guests
  • Proficiency for all in operation by participants used PSA
  • Knowledge of routine inspections in accordance with DIN EN 15567-1
  • Verbal intervention techniques
  • Support of rescue and evacuation techniques
  • Appropriate use of Adventure Parks

Wilderness First Aid

WILDERNESS FIRST AID

TrollAktiv deliver internationally recognised scenario based wilderness first aid courses.

Our courses are based on training for incidents that can happen to anyone at anytime whilst taking part in an activity. These courses are the international standard for anyone employed or working in an outdoor environment.  Ideal for Teachers, Guides, Instructors or anyone else that may find themselves leading groups in an outdoor environment.  The course deals with medical emergencies as well as responding to accidents.

Wilderness First Aid- WFAW : 8 hours (1 day)

This workshop focus’ on good basic life support techniques as well as environmental issues that arise in the wilderness. The class is mostly hands-on skills with the use of scenarios and labs.

Examples of some of the skills learned and practised are: CPR, Bleeding, heat and cold issues, near drowning, allergies, asthma and other common medical problems.

This course includes CPR certification and meets or exceeds the minimum requirement for most CPR/First Aid training needs.
