Booking and payment

I want to make a booking, how do it do it?

All accommodation and activities can be booked via email or telephone.

Is it possible to alter a booking once it has been confirmed?

Changes can be made up to 24 hours before your arrival and we will try our very best to accommodate your request.

Is it possible to cancel a booking?

Accommodation can be cancelled without charge up to 24 hours before your booked stay. If you cancel after this point you will have to pay in full for your booking. If you have booked for more than one night just the first night is payable.

Please call us if you need to cancel an activity.

When does the payment need to be made?

Payment needs to be made in full on arrival to the centre at check in of accommodation or before any activity takes place. It is still possible to add to your order once payment has been made. For all group package trips full payment must be made 4 weeks prior to the trip.

How can I pay?

We accept both cash and card.

It is possible for company groups to pay by invoice. Please give us a call for more details.

Is it possible to split the payment between our group?

Yes, but we request that large groups arrange to make payment together rather than lots of individual payments, as this can take a lot of time and can block the payment area for other guests.

Is it possible to book extra nights once checked in?

It is possible depending on our other bookings. Please come and see us in reception and we can see what we can do

Can I book additional activities once I have arrived at the centre?

Yes. During the summer months we run most of our activities on a daily basis, so there are opportunities for you to book on to many different activities with very little notice. Be aware, however, that during busy times trips can fill up fast, so we recommend you book as soon as you can.

How do I find TrollAktiv?

TrollAktiv is nice and easy to find. We are located right on the side of the RV9, 6km north of Evje, approx 1 hour north of Kristiansand. Check out our map on the website for more details. Our postal address is Syrtveit 4, 4735 Evje

Can I reach TrollAktiv by public transport?

There is a bus stop located on the mainroad right next to TrollAktiv, buses pass here daily from Kristiansand in the south and Haukeli in the North. You can find the timetable at: http://www.akt.no/info/reise/rutetabeller/setesdal. Click on the ‘Haukeli-Evje-Kristiansand’ link and we are located just between Evje and Byglandsfjord.

Some buses will just take you to Evje, in which case it is possible to take a taxi the additional 6km to TrollAktiv. You can reach ‘Evje Taxi’ on (0047) 37930119

Where is the Klatreskogen?

The Klatreskogen is located just down the road from TrollAktiv at the Mineral Park just a few minutes south of Evje centre on the E9. Check out the map on the Klatreskogen website for details: http://www.klatreskogen.no/slik-finner-du-fram

What time do I need to arrive?

We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your activity start time.

What do I do when I arrive?

You need to come to reception and check in for your activity. We will then take payment and give you any necessary details you need, and you will be able to ask us any questions you may have.

Do I need to sign a disclaimer form?

Yes, for certain activities. If you would like to see a copy of our disclaimer form, please email us.

Do I need to bring anything for the activity?

Some activities will require you to bring certain items. For example, you will need swimming clothes for wet activities. Each activity has a page on our website explaining everything you may need to bring.

What do I with my personal belongings whilst I am on an activity if I am not staying at the centre?

If you have a car then we recommend that you leave everything locked in there and hand in your keys to the reception. If you do not have a car, then we will happily store your belongings in a safe place.

Can weather effect activities?

We run most of our activities in all types of weather, but occasionally certain extreme weather conditions may stop an activity if we feel it may compromise the safety or quality of a session.

Do any of the activities have age restrictions?

Yes. Some of our activities do have age restrictions. Please check out the individual activity pages on our website for more details.

We have both adults and children in our group; can we take part in activities together?

Yes! We have a number of activities that are well suited for all ages. Check out the family section in our package tab on the website for suggestions and more information.

Accommodation

How do I find TrollAktiv?

TrollAktiv is nice and easy to find. We are located right on the edge of the E9, 6km north of Evje, approx 1 hour north of Kristiansand. Check out our map on the website for more details

Is it possible to reach TrollAktiv by public transport?

There is a bus stop directly outside the front entrance of TrollAktiv. The bus from Kristiansand to Hovden (Setesdal Express) runs this route. You can find the time table at http://www.akt.no/info/reise/rutetabeller/setesdal. Click on «Haukeli-Evje-Kristiansand» The TrollAktiv stop is between Evje and Byglandsfjord

Some busses may stop at Evje, in this case take a taxi the remaining 6 Km to TrollAktiv. Evje Taxi can be reached on number (0047) 37930119.

What time can I check in?

You can check in to your accommodation anytime after 14:00. Full payment must be made at checking in.

Is there car parking?

Yes. You will be advised of where you can park you car by reception staff when checking in.

Is there Wifi?

Yes. We have free wifi for all guests at the centre. Please see reception for the password.

Do I need to bring bedding?

All room have duvets and pillows, but linen must be provided or rented from reception.

Do I have to pay for showers?

All communal showers are kr 10,- for 6 minutes. In accommodation with bathrooms, showers are free.

Is there a shop onsite?

We have a small kiosk located at our reception area. This sells hot and cold drinks, snacks, a selection of hot food during the day and a variety of souvenirs.

Are meals available to purchase at TrollAktiv?

Breakfast is available each morning from 08:00 – 10:00. This must be pre-ordered the day before at reception. It is also possible for groups to pre-order a set lunch or dinner, please contact us for details. We also sell cooked pizzas to order at reception.

Are there kitchens available to use?

If your accommodation does not include a kitchen you will have access to one of our communal kitchens. The reception will advise you on which kitchen you can use when you check in.

What facilities are there onsite?

• Grill and fire pit (charcoal and wood available to purchase from reception).
• Drying room for any clothing you may have got wet from activities during the day.
• Volleyball court
• Sports equipment for your use including; footballs, volleyball, table tennis equipment, basketballs, etc

What time is check out?

Check out for all accommodation is 10.00. All keys must be returned to reception before this time or we may have to charge you for an additional night.

Do the rooms need to be cleaned before departing?

All rooms must be cleaned. This includes empting of bins, sweeping and mopping floors, removal of all rubbish and cleaning of kitchen or bathrooms. All rubbish is to be placed into plastic bags and left by the cabin entrance. Please see a member of staff if you need any addition cleaning equipment.
It is possible to order cabin cleaning. This must be booked before the departure day and costs from Kr 300,- per small cabin/room. Kr 450,- for a large cabin.

Can I leave my luggage somewhere if I have an activity after I have checked out?

Yes. Luggage storage can be arranged. Please see reception for details.

Are dogs allowed in the accommodation?

Dogs are allowed in selected accommodation. Please ask when booking for further details. If you have a dog then you must pay for cleaning on departure.

Is there a quiet time at night?

To be respectful of other guests staying onsite, we ask that there is no noise after 23:00.

Are there contactable staff onsite 24/7?

There will be a manager onsite from 09:00 – 21:00 each day. If you have any questions or need any assistance during this period you will find them in reception. There will also be a member of staff onsite out of these hours to be contacted in an emergency only. Telephone: 37 93 11 77.

All helmets are CE approved for its use. Helmets Water CE EN 1385 approved climbing helmet CE EN 12492 approved and all cycling helmets CE EN 1078 approved

Our life jackets for use in rafting meets ISO and CE standards.
